The Mond process

In this reaction only the nickel reacts with gaseous carbonmonixide (leaving the impurities begind), to form tetracarbonylnickel. The obtained liquid is passed up a tower filles with nickel pellets. At high speed and 400 K the pure nickel plates out an the pellets.
